Low Tide is a southern rock band from the mountains of Franklin, North Carolina, made up of students who found common ground in their love for music. Though they’d been playing music together in various forms for years, Low Tide officially came together as a band in March of 2025, locking into a sound influenced by rock, blues, country, and Americana.
All four members of Low Tide are part of their high school band, a shared foundation that sharpened their musicianship and cemented their chemistry. Will Rogers (bass, vocals – junior) and Elias Peek (keyboard – junior) have known each other since they were toddlers, growing up side by side and playing music together for as long as they can remember. Christian Templeman (drums – junior) joined the musical friend group in middle school, rounding out the rhythm and strengthening the bond. Everything clicked last year when they met Garon Hope (vocals, guitar – senior), whose enthusiasm and frontman energy completed the lineup and brought the band fully into focus.
Low Tide’s live momentum began right at home. The band first started playing together in their high school auditorium, where they were overheard rehearsing by the person organizing prom—and were immediately asked to open the event. That surprise opportunity marked their first major performance and set the tone for a busy year onstage.
Low Tide covers a wide range of artists spanning generations, including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, and Prince, bringing their own southern-rock edge to each performance. Alongside their covers, the band is actively writing original material in their spare time, drawing from the same influences and experiences that shape their live sound as they work toward defining their own voice.
Low Tide has performed throughout the region, including at their high school’s graduation, local music festivals, private events, and community celebrations. The band also earned recognition by winning the town’s 80’s Parade, further establishing their place in the local music scene. With a growing reputation for energetic and crowd-connecting performances, Low Tide is already booked for a number of shows in the upcoming year, continuing to build momentum beyond their hometown.
